Ying

I first discovered yoga asana back in the early 1990s from a small old book when I was still in China. I was fascinated by the photos demonstrating how the human body can be twisted or stretched in unbelievable ways.  It was not until 2003 that I started my own serious yoga practice studying with different teachers, including Mark Darby, Kino MacGregor, Tim Feldmann, Rodney Yee, Sean Corn, Doug Swenson, etc.

With a background in gymnastics, I fell in love with Power yoga and Ashtanga yoga right away due to their dynamic and energetic style. As my practice deepened, I experienced greater inner peace. It brought harmony to my life and enhanced my mental power. I started to understand Yoga is more than a way to be more flexible. Its therapeutic effects reach beyond physical fitness and mental relaxation. Yoga is, at its core, a spiritual discipline.

I am a certified Yoga teacher, well educated in Yoga philosophy, with extensive Hatha Yoga (Power Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga) training. I have experience teaching various styles of yoga to different groups. I am a very enthusiastic and energetic person, and my class is fun, creative, dynamic and personal, with a healthy and positive outlook. The guiding principle of my teaching is that the practice fits the student, not the student fits the practice.

Yoga is my journey and my passion. Teaching Yoga offers me the challenge and the joy of self-discovery through the process of yoga. It allows me to contribute to society in a way that makes me feel good.
