Mimi
Ever since I can remember I have been interested in different tools for self discovery and healing methods. The Vipassana meditation and Ashtanga yoga gave me a tool for calming and focusing my busy mind. In 2013, I completed my Yoga Teacher training at Ashtanga Yoga Montreal. The following year, I took my first trip to India to study more deeply and intensively the practice and philosophy of yoga. That first trip took me to a number of shalas in Southern India, where I was blessed to have the opportunity to practice with many wonderful teachers, such as Monica Marinoni in Auroville, Rolf Naujokat in Goa, Pattabhi Jois’s daughter Saraswati and Grandson Sharath in Mysore. They became the foundation of my practice. I developed a keen desire to know more about the history, language and culture surrounding yoga. This passion was always intertwined with my studies in Linguistics and translation at Concordia University in Montreal, where I also practiced with Mark Darby on a regular basis. I believe the practice itself is the true teacher and through my faith in the Ashtanga method, I hope to inspire practitioners to cultivate their own yoga sadhana.
