The training begins with 3- 4 day weekends that will touch on all the teachings we will cover in more depth during the assigned weekends. Students who simply want an overview or a refresher can register for this portion of the teacher training, an amazing way to deepen your practice or hone your teaching skills.

2020-2021 Schedule:

Due to COVID-19 we are changing the structure of our program. Starting August 6th we will have 3- 4day weekends to begin our program then follow with 6 weekends over the following 7 months. Due to the situation, we will also be offering this program via Zoom, giving those of you who are out of town or not comfortable with gatherings, a way to participate. Over these 12 days, we will look at, in brief, all aspects of our 200hr Teacher Training.

First Part

The Pillars of Practice: Asana, Breath, and Meditation

In this module we will study yoga postures by examining precise biomechanical functions based on the fundamental principles of alignment, adapting to specific needs and through the exploration of a deeper more precise level of practice. This module will introduce all aspects of the 200-hour training.

A large part of the training will be dedicated to the importance of breath and its impact on the practice, while the mental aspects will be addressed through the practice and study of meditation. These principles will then be applied to the movement of asana.

Subjects covered are:

  • Deepen your personal practice

  • Sharpen your teaching skills

  • Biomechanics of movement and the asana practice

  • Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology

  • Introduction to Pranayama

  • Meditation

  • Introduction to history and Philosophy

  • Introduction to Restorative yoga

Information :

Who will teach? Jeanne Mudie and Julien Gagnon will be teaching the majority of the training, they will be joined by invited guests who will come to teach specific aspects of the training such as anatomy, philosophy, and methodology of teaching.

This training aims to consolidate a solid personal practice and develop the basics of strategic and effective teaching through a biomechanical approach while favoring a global vision of the movement. The training also offers reflections on philosophy, meditation, and ethics that nourish our vision of yoga. It is in-depth teaching of yoga postures, philosophy, and pedagogy, and is particularly interested in how this practice is rooted in our contemporary world and adapted to the students of aspiring teachers. Participatory pedagogy will emphasize the integration of subject matter through personal experience, practice, application to specific situations and teaching. Specialized speakers will be invited to share their knowledge by giving us an open window on the latest research and current approaches in the professional world. The 200-hour training is certified by the Yoga Alliance and accredited by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (tax receipts available). However, it is possible to register for each module separately.

Language requirements: The training will be offered in both French and English. Basic bilingualism is recommended.

Who it is for?

Practitioners with a serious approach who want to go further in their yoga practice and understand the basics of practical and inspiring teaching. Especially for those who wish to start a career as a yoga teacher. The training is for people who practice yoga on a regular basis and yoga teachers who would like to perfect their knowledge and put it into practice as part of their continuing education. Our pedagogical and content approach is also suitable for health, sport and movement professionals who want to understand how yoga can be integrated into their respective disciplines.

Prerequisites: The most important is the willingness and openness to learning. More specifically, the ability to put time into practice, engage seriously and remain open to question his practice and his vision of yoga. It is recommended to have at least 2 years of experience of diligent practice.
