Celine is fascinated with the process of embodiment, which led her to study dance at Montreal's Concordia University, as well as in Tokyo, Japan where she worked with a physical theatre company for three years. It was in Tokyo that she began to study yoga seriously and explore how energy organizes in the body. In the past ten years, she has had the opportunity to learn under the guidance of great teachers from the Ashtanga and Iyengar traditions—among them, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, with whom she spent a year in India; Richard Freeman, whose teacher training certification she completed in June 2005 and Orit Sen-Gupta, who she continues to study with. Through varied training in massage, somatics and meditation, and her work teaching yoga to street youth over the past three years, Celine incorporates into her classes concepts of presence and awareness as central points of focus. She offers an experiential and analytical approach that encourages students to open their hearts and feel the yoga behind the pose.
