Yoga Teacher Changes for February

CLASS LEVELS

Independent Practice:
Practitioners have the use of the AYM studio and equipment to work at their own ability and level. In this environment independence and self-motivation is encouraged. This class is supervised for safety; there is, however, no instruction in this class. 8-10 am @ $5.00

Mysore:
Practitioners work at their own ability level and pace with the support of a teacher, present to give advice and assists when necessary. In this environment, inner focus and listening is encouraged and cultivated. The intermediate and advanced series are also taught in this class. Mysore class runs from 7-10 am with instruction from 8-10 am.

Ashtanga Level 1:
Starting at the beginning – the first class to about six months of experience. These classes are an introduction to the Ashtanga primary series, with emphasis on proper alignment and breathing.

Ashtanga Level 2:
In this level, the Ashtanga primary series is completed in a modified version.

Ashtanga Level 3:
In this level, the entire primary series is completed with advanced postures and backbends. Previous experience in Level 1 and 2 classes is required.

Ashtanga Multi Level:
Suitable for all levels. The actual class content is based on the level of participants present in the room.

Restorative Yoga:
Suitable for all levels, no previous yoga experience necessary. A full and balanced practice includes both active and passive work and this class is your opportunity to learn and practice restorative poses once a week. This class emphasizes restful and semi-active poses aimed at stilling the mind, calming the nerves, and boosting organic and immune function.

Meditation:
This meditation form is a perfect complement to asana yoga practice because it introduces students to the inner limbs of Yoga (sensory gathering, concentration, contemplation, insight work and samadhi.) These meditation techniques reduce stress and focus the mind in the present moment for optimal living. $10 or pay what you can donation

AcroYoga:
Combines the dynamic playfulness of acrobatics and partner yoga with consciousness, breath and a yogic sensibility, for
a balanced and joyful practice.
